Come On In.
Welcome to AxlYoga.
Whether you found this space through a friend, a late-night scroll, or sheer cosmic chaos, I’m so glad you’re here.
This isn’t about doing yoga right. It’s about showing up. Breathing. Moving. Getting a little messy. Laughing when you fall out of a pose. Landing back in your body. Again and again.
Here’s what you should know:
-
Never done yoga? Perfect. We start from wherever you are.
-
Took a long break? Cool, me too sometimes. Let’s begin again.
-
Been practicing for years? Awesome. Let’s strip it back to what’s real.
You don’t need to be flexible. You don’t need fancy pants. You don’t need to “fix” anything.
You just need a body, a breath, and a willingness to show up.
Pick a class. Book a private. Come to a retreat. Or just hang out and feel it out. There’s room for you here.
My Yoga Journey
Yoga didn’t arrive with incense and om’s..
I found it in the gym. In the quiet moments between kettlebell sets. In the back corner of a group fitness room. In the long exhale after chasing strength but craving something deeper.
I didn’t have a practice before teacher training. Not really. I just knew something needed to shift.
I was burnt out on performance, on proving, on pretending everything was fine.
I craved softer edges. More honest moments. I wanted to find Axel, and that’s exactly what happened.
Yoga found me when I needed it most. And since then, I’ve met versions of myself I never knew existed.
I walk with more grace.
I hold life with a gentler grip.
I show up; messy, human, grateful.
And just like the practice, that ebbs and flows. But yoga has always been my safety net. A place I return to when the world feels too loud or I feel too far from myself.
I grew up queer in the Midwest, a world that didn’t always make room for softness, for difference, for truth. Movement became my sanctuary. First through coaching fitness and eventually, through yoga. What began as a physical outlet became a spiritual home. A place where I could breathe. Listen. Remember.
Yoga taught me that the body is not something to control, but something to come home to.
That presence is power.
That joy is a birthright.
AxlYoga was born from that knowing, a space to move, sweat, soften, and reconnect.
It’s where anatomy meets alchemy.
Where strength and spirit sit side by side.
Where every part of you - your story, your scars, your softness - is welcome.
This isn’t about perfect poses or polished performances.
It’s about truth. Healing. And the sacred act of showing up.
